Walrus Oyster and Ale House seeks a Barback for our 6,500 sq. foot, high volume, 250 seat restaurant, bar, and patio in the center of National Harbor, MD with views of the Potomac River! In operation since September 2014, we break the corporate mold in our selection of staff.

Position Requirements

The Walrus team is responsible for creating an exceptional experience through greeting guests genuinely and offering personalized customer service.

The bar backs will:

  • Stock all juices, liquor, beer, and wine in bar cabinets and refrigerators, ensuring sufficient supply of clean glassware for the bartenders
  • Stock all cubed and display ice
  • Prepare, cut and stock all fruit and garnishes for drinks
  • Maintain the entire bar area in clean fashion, Collecting dirty glasses and napkins from the bar and drink rails and ensure the bar, rails and floor is spotless
  • Empty trash cans
  • Properly wash and sanitize all glassware
  • Set up and break down all bar areas
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the bar during and after closing
  • Develop an efficient work pace
  • Stand and work for the entire shift. This role is in constant motion
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
