Drivers Non CDL 


SUMMARY: : Drives gasoline or diesel powered Straight Truck to transport and deliver office or household items and provides loading and unloading services, including carrying household goods in and out of the residence by performing the following duties . Must have own tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Employees are required to wear company issued uniform and ID badge at all times while on job;
  2. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition;
  3. Assures proper materials and equipment is loaded in truck before starting out on a move and refueled the vehicle at the end of the shift;
  4. Insures all passengers wear seat belts according to state laws;
  5. Driver consults with the shipper on items to be loaded, explains the paperwork and the process that will be used during this phase of their move;
  6. Completes a detailed inventory sheet prior to loading truck;
  7. Provides loading, carrying and unloading services from the inside house and on to the truck and provides the same services as the helper classification;
  8. Organizes the crew's work duties during the move process;
  9. Wraps furniture with blankets to prevent damage;
  10. Wraps dishes and fragile items in packing paper and pack them into containers;
  11. Oversees and participates in the loads truck, distributing weight evenly, forming compact load, to optimize available space;
  12. Drives truck to destination for loading and unload cargo and provides the same services as the helper classification;
  13. Obtains customers signature on all paperwork and collects pre-approved payment for services rendered, if appropriate;
  14. Insures when truck returns to the yard that all packing material and equipment is re-stacked, folded and neatly arranged before leaving for the day;
  15. Insures that no mobile phones or devices are use while driving a company vehicle or while working, but at lunch & break times, only;
  16. Insures no smoking policy is enforced on company and client property;

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school or technical school education; or 1 to 2 years industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information to groups; to one-on-one situations; to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: .Must have a valid driver’s license and current Medical Certificate.

SCREENING CRITERIA: Background checks are mandatory for certain company positions, including, but not limited to those positions involving participation in or work performed for Atlas Van Lines and/or Atlas World Group and Record Retention services and requires all individuals pass based on criteria parameters established.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
