The ERSPC (Engagement and Recovery Support Peer Counselor) is a member of a multidisciplinary team who provides identification, engagement, treatment maintenance, tracking, discharge-planning and support services for both youth and adult members of the community who are experiencing substance use related issues. One of the primary goals of this position is to develop rapport with an individual, and their family member, if possible, for the purpose of bringing the client into and/or keeping them in ongoing SUD treatment services. ERSPC are expected to make use of lived experience; focusing on building hope and creating a positive vision of leading productive lives in the community.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current WA State Peer Counseling certificate or complete certification within six months of employment. Preference for lived experience in an inpatient or crisis setting, working toward CDP preferred, valid Washington State Driver License and Food Handler card. High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to provide client transportation in a personal or an agency vehicle.
PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, ascend and descend stairs, talk or listen and lift up to 25 pounds. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
