SUMMARY

Performs duties as a Graphic Artist/ Web Designer, with an emphasis on providing support to the FEMA Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) Office in creating and determining the layout, font color, font type, logos, pictures and other visual and verbal aspects of the website. The Web graphic designer determines what the client wants out of the product. This includes what message is being sent out and what audience is being targeted. Create sketches and samples of potential layouts for the website, before developing the finished product.

DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Meet with Government client to determine the scope of a project
  • Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience
  • Determine the message the design should portray
  • Create images that identify a product or convey a message
  • Develop graphics for product illustrations, logos, and websites
  • Select colors, images, text style, and layout
  • Present the design to clients or the art director
  • Incorporate changes recommended by the clients into the final
  • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing product
 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent
  • Expertise in the following website/graphic design programs: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver, Powerpoint as well as Microsoft Office Applications, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, video and animation tools
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience related to web and graphics designs that correlates with the updated software
  • Current Defense Security Service issued TOP SECRET clearance
  • Job Location – FEMA HQ, 500 C Street SW, Washington, DC
