SUMMARY

Performs duties as a Subject Matter Expert, with an emphasis on providing Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) technical assistance and support to the FEMA CBRN Office in providing extensive knowledge in the area of critical infrastructure and key resources. Provide subject matter expertise associated with CBRN hazards in the areas of public/responder education/information; response management; response and recovery capability assessment, policy/doctrine, capability based assessments, and implementation plans. The SME would be called upon to provide planning knowledge in a specific CBRN/ Emergency Management area and assist in facilitating solutions to identified issues. Facilitation can come in the form of applying firsthand knowledge in the identified area or utilizing contacts in that area to generate fact-finding sessions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the development of strategic plans
  • Researching and reviewing of appropriate and applicable literature and documents
  • Identifying needs, developing, validating, and delivery of training
  • Developing and conducting a series of increasingly complex exercises
  • Staffing internal and external documents
  • Preparing briefings and related presentations
  • Attending and participating in meetings, conferences and working sessions
  • Providing subject matter expertise in training and exercise development/ execution
  • Provide support to technical writing of CBRN related reports, studies, and publications
 
Position Requirements
  • Fifteen (15) years' experience as a SME in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and/or Emergency Management areas
  • Experience in direct support of FEMA is preferable
  • Bachelor's Degree in related area of expertise
  • Current Defense Security Service issued TOP SECRET clearance
