Summary / Objective

The accounts receivable clerk is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the Company. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the Company.

Essential Functions

  • Apply customer payments in ERP system
  • Research and resolve customer payment discrepancies, adjusting accounts as needed.
  • Review daily sales invoicing for possible issues.
  • Resolve invoicing issues with operations.
  • Print and email daily sales invoices.
  • Issue customer debit and credit memos as approved by management.
  • Issue customer refund checks as approved by management
  • Resolve and/or refer customer phone calls and emails
  • Respond to credit inquiries concerning customers
  • Maintain Sales Tax Exemption Certificate Capture database in Avalara and ERP system
  • Assist Accounts Payable Clerk with monthly utility, group insurance, and other bills.
  • Assist Accounts Payable Clerk with resolving old outstanding invoices.
  • Backup Receptionist by answering phones when needed.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at managements' discretion.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly spend time sitting, listening/speaking, and operating a personal computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

At least 3 years work experience processing receivables.
