Organizational Training and Development Specialist 

Description

NBCC is recruiting for an organizational training and development specialist. This position designs, documents, and conducts training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. This includes preparation of multimedia training materials (manuals, guides, visual aids, quick reference guides [QRGs], and other course materials) and delivery of those materials in a classroom environment. The training content may cover work procedures, product use, safety, customer service, work skills, language skills, or other topics. This position works under limited supervision and has significant responsibility for needs identification and program design as well as delivery of training.

This position reports to Katrina Gooch, Director of Human Resources

Essential Functions

  1. Maintains internal/career development training in LMS.
  2. Completes diagnostic assessments (job analysis, training needs, performance analysis, etc.).
  3. May provide training and technical support of technical systems as needed.
  4. Works with LMS vendor to achieve organizational goals as needed.
  5. Works with the Director of HR to conduct research for specific internal training needs based on business objectives and professional development needs within the organization.
  6. Delivers and evaluates the effectiveness of training to staff.
  7. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and any impacts to the organization.
  8. Collaborates with managers and designated staff to create new training programs, update existing training procedures, and present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats.
  9. Collaborates with managers, staff, and the Director of HR to facilitate the documentation of institutional knowledge within the organization by interviewing existing staff, documenting observations, receiving information, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  10. Assesses organizational training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, and consultation with managers and other stakeholders to improve individual and organizational effectiveness.
  11. Organizes and develops training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials, such as handouts, QRGs, and other visual aid materials.
  12. Monitors, evaluates, and records training activities and program effectiveness.
  13. Assesses readiness level of participants using known assessment methods (pre- and post-training).
  14. Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
