Associate Director, Corporate Communications

Job Summary:

The Academy is looking for an experienced corporate communications strategist to join the team. Working within the Marketing group, the Associate Director will also collaborate with senior leadership to help implement communications initiatives on the Oscars, membership engagement and internal outreach.

Reports to: Managing Director, Marketing and Corporate Communications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive and initiate communications projects at the direction of key stakeholders.
  • Execution of press relations and internal and external communications.
  • Write and develop communications campaigns, executive speeches, letters, talking points and other outreach materials.
  • Manage a team of communications professionals.
  • Convey the Academy's voice in all content while projecting the Academy's mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Journalism or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years general management experience in the public relations or corporate communications fields, or an equivalent combination of experience.
  • Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage edits and input from various sources diplomatically.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under deadline.
  • Ability to collaborate, manage, influence and engage.
