Provide supervision and training for Psychiatric Aides while overseeing a range of administrative and clinical activities in support of running a safe and therapeutic milieu. Ensure Psychiatric Aides maintain appropriate training and licensure according to KMHS policy and associated WACs. Work collaboratively with staff in carrying out client treatment plans and objectives from time of admission to discharge.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s Degree in psychology, social work or a related field with two years experience providing direct service to persons with mental illness is preferred. In lieu of a Master’s Degree, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree and significant, relevant clinical experience may be considered, or any combination of education, experience and demonstrated clinical competence providing the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Basic computer skills required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Inpatient work experience, supervisory experience, teaching ability, and proficiency in MS Word preferred. PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: While performing the duties of the job the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, ascend and descend stairs, talk or listen in normal conversation levels and lift up to 50 pounds. A significant degree of flexibility and strength is required in this position due to the infrequent, yet essential, use of ones limbs and body weight as a temporary means of physical restraint of some clients. This position also requires peripheral vision and may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
