Description

The executive assistant to the head and associate head of school provides confidential, consistent, and professional support to these administrators as well as to the George School Board of Trustees. Possessing excellent organizational skills and an ability to anticipate the needs of the office, the executive assistant takes initiative in creating systems and programs to make the work of the head, the associate head, the Board, and the School more efficient. At George School the executive assistant sits on several important standing committees and has frequent contact with faculty, staff, parents, and students.

 
Position Requirements
  • Associates/Bachelor’s Degree and at least five years of progressively responsible experience as an administrative assistant or similar role, preferably in an educational setting.

  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills.

  • The ability to anticipate needs and to take initiative.

  • Flexibility and equanimity for handling a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable office environment.

  • The ability to work with a wide range of individuals and to interact cheerfully and professionally with the public; a customer service persona.

  • An understanding and appreciation of the traditions of Quaker education and a working style consistent with Quaker values

  • Proficiency with computer programs and Jenzabar database (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Portal applications).

  • Strong computer (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, portal) and word processing (55 wpm) skills
