SUMMARY: Responsible to assist planning efforts and perform skilled painting work as a result of construction, maintenance and repair of Casino property while ensuring procedures are handled in accordance with applicable building safety codes and Grand Casino Policies and Procedures and all entities and properties under the control of Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Communicate with appropriate management for coordination and implementation of project goals and timelines, adhering to project schedules.
Plans work, estimates projects costs and recommends materials.
Performs painting projects as assigned.
Responds to work orders on a daily basis, according to entity and property needs.
Applies wall coverings, paint, stains, sealers and/or solvents to exterior or interior facility surfaces.
Performs special refinishing tasks including surface preparation, sanding, mudding, taping, caulking and texturing.
Responsible for doing all work to comply with established building codes.
Maintains inventory stock.
Maintains strict adherence of all codes, OSHA safety rules and ensures regulations are followed.
Ensures that all cleaning materials, chemicals and equipment are used in accordance with the manufacturer instructions as outlined in the SDS.
Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding and motorized lifts.
Accountable for cleanliness and overall condition of storage rooms and work areas.
Interacts with guests and other departments in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.
Any and all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two (2) years commercial painting experience required.
If required, must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR’s.
Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
Must possess verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to interpret specifications and cost estimates for assigned jobs.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and technical documents.
Must be apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:
Talk and hear;
See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision;
Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;
Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands;
Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds;
Climb a variety of ladders, up to 36 feet tall, and use aerial lift equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:
