Job Summary:

An Account Manager, Premium Sales, is primarily responsible for selling Pittsburgh Pirates premium products, including but not limited to, annual suite leases; Lexus Club; Club Cambria, Pittsburgh baseball club, World Series Suites, and various hospitality spaces around PNC Park, with a heavy focus in the mid to large size corporate sector.

The employee will be required to produce an annual business plan addressing how he/she will strategize and approach the mid-to-large size corporate sector clientele as well as individuals interested in premium experiences at PNC Park, will have autonomy in executing the business plan, and is expected to regularly meet with potential clientele offsite. Incumbents in this role must be self-motivated, goal driven and able to proficiently exercise sound business judgment.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed annual premium new business revenue goals by creating an individualized business plan that focuses in part on maintaining a high volume of appointments, proposal writing, presentations and follow-ups.
  • Identify new premium revenue opportunities by cultivating relationships with business and community leaders including but not limited to; networking events; speaking engagements, business expos and others.
  • Create and execute a business plan, which provides strategic goals and objectives, thoughtfulness of how to best approach premium sales clientele, and measurable time and revenue metrics for a sales year, which aims to hit and exceed the goals set by Pittsburgh Pirates.
  • Work with independent judgment and business discretion to execute against the business plan.
  • Negotiate premium seating, luxury suite, and/or premium experience packages for premium clientele within a range as provided by the Pirates.
  • Entertain prospects on a consistent basis throughout the regular and off-season during games, outings and other strategic events with a goal of growing revenue.
  • Identify opportunities for new and innovative premium seating areas at PNC Park.
  • Design innovative new sales strategies to produce leads, referrals and sales.
  • Align with industry leaders to keep up-to-date with best practices in premium sales.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM regarding activities and sales.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Director, Premium Sales, Service & Hospitality.
  • As available and requested, willingness to be lead stakeholder internally for specific areas of premium sales department. This can include participating in brainstorm meetings, communicating cross departmentally key talking points and happenings.
  • As request, provide mentorship and advice to premium and non-premium sales team members.
  • As requested, represent the premium department at internal meetings.
  • Responsible for designing and leading one training session per quarter on an identified topic within premium sales.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Partnership team members on potential partnership opportunities that arise from relationships with premium seating clientele.
  • Possess a team-first attitude and work well with others.
  • Heightened attention to detail with strong time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to self-generate business prospects and leads.
 
Position Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year university.
  • Minimum four (4) years of sales experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) full seasons of selling or retaining premium seating products in the sports industry.
  • Prior experience selling luxury suite, premium seating, and/or selling directly to mid-to-large size businesses.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Desired

  • Proven track-record of achieving and/or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience within a professional sports environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
