Facilities Risk Manager 

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Safety and Security specialist to provide leadership towards a safe and secure environment at CMI properties. The Specialist is responsible for ensuring that each CMI community develops and remains compliant with established safety practices and that all equipment is in working order. The Specialist works cooperatively with site leaders and security staff to support a safe work/living environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a leader to promote and ensure safety for Staff and Residents at CMI communities.
  • Participate in the review of existing facilities and the planning of new construction, and make recommendations to help prevent criminal activity and enhance the safety of occupants and staff, including but not limited to, materials, design, and system technology.
  • Recommend and implement as approved, policies, procedures and plans relevant to providing a safer environment for staff and residents.
  • Respond to staff and resident issues and concerns in a supportive, professional and timely problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all safety and security equipment including lights, cameras, and gates are in working order.
  • Ensure that safety procedures including security patrols are being conducted according to established procedures.
  • Audit critical incident reports to ensure that all criminal incidents that occur on CMI property are investigated and reported in a timely fashion, and when needed, that incidents are referred to the appropriate internal team.
  • Conduct training and information presentations for CMI staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Safety and Security requirements for Multi-Family Communities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to audit, inspect, and ascertain the operating condition of safety and security equipment


Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent


Experience:

  • Two (2) years’ experience in a Safety/Security Role
  • One (1) year experience leading a Safety or Security team
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity addressing issues of concern with staff, and residents from diverse backgrounds.
