Description

The Energy Management Department in Cupertino, CA, invites applications from qualified PhD candidates for a fall internship position. The internship project focuses on designing multi-mode management solutions for energy storage systems to provide both behind and front the meter services such as peak shaving and electricity market participation. The project includes research on design, control, and data analytics of energy systems. The successful candidate is expected to develop an intelligent and effective energy management framework for battery storage systems operating to provide various grid services.

 
Position Requirements

• PhD candidate in EE/CS or related field
• Profound knowledge of control systems
• Understanding of energy management systems and model predictive control
• Good programming (Python, C++) and system design skills
• Working Knowledge and experience of machine learning techniques, such as neural networks and deep learning

Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Linear and convex optimization techniques
• Experience in multi-agent systems controller synthesis
