Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Serve as Program Assistant with a focus on digital communications within the OPTIC team with primary responsibility for effectively executing administrative tasks for the fund development team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with OPTIC team members to create, update, and refresh digital content on UCC’s websites and social media platforms.
  • Managed and create email marketing and philanthropy communications.
  • Employ marketing analytics techniques to gather important data (social media, web analytics, rankings etc.)
  • Assist in the organizing of digital campaigns such as Giving Tuesday.
  • Work with the Social Media Coordinator and Web Strategist to compose and post online content on the company’s website and social media accounts.
  • Coordinate the administrative task needed to ensure a cohesive digital marketing strategy such as organizing digital files and refreshing the production calendars.
  • Support and coordinate special events and meetings, both on-site and electronic, including logistics; provide full administrative event support; and, prepare and disseminate agenda materials and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive correspondence and meetings.
  • Maintain the donor relations and prospect management processes for the OPTIC Philanthropy initiatives.
  • Provide other special and ongoing project support for the OPTIC team as assigned.
  • Participate as part of the Administrative Support Network for communal support across the ministries as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 3-5 years of general administrative assistant experience; Associates degree preferred.
  • Experience in office administration with willingness to take appropriate initiative for the effective operation of the office.
  • General executive assistant experience and training; knowledge of office procedures and management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacities to be a self-starter, able to prioritize work and to perform work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to edit and proofread materials.
  • High degree of computer competence including knowledge of the current versions of Word, Excel, and related donor or relationship management software.
  • Strong understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion, and a demonstrated capacity for managerial and human relation skills.
  • Desire to be a team player who can create and maintain a thriving team environment.
  • Desire and sensitivity to work in a diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious setting with a commitment to pluralism in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the United Church of Christ polity, structure and its mission.
