Mid-Level Donor Representative 

About the Organization Faith Comes By Hearing is an Audio Bible ministry based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our vision is to get God's Word to every person, and we do this by recording Audio Bibles in every language and freely sharing them using the latest technology. We currently offer recordings in more than 1000 languages spoken by nearly 6 billion people around the world. The purposes for which Faith Comes By Hearing is organized are wholly religious and include the following: To proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in all that we do. The Corporation's Statement of Faith is as follows: Trusting in Jesus Christ as our Savior, we believe in: 1. The Bible as the inspired Word of God; 2. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son; 3. The vicarious death of Jesus Christ for our sins, His bodily resurrection, and His personal return; 4. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
Position Mid-Level Donor Representative  
Category Donor Engagement  

The Mid-Level Donor Representative will engage, primarily by phone, with prospective and active mid-level donors who are defined by their level of giving with a first time gift of $500+ and/or gifts of $1,000 - $9,999, cumulatively, per year. This individual will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships and encouraging further support of our mission/vision to achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Represent the organization by developing a comprehensive understanding of its history, values, vision, and strategic objectives and being able to communicate these knowledgeably, credibly and enthusiastically with mid-level and prospective donors.
  2. Coordinate and make thank you calls, in a timely manner, to donors who give a first time gift of $500+; to those who give, cumulatively, $1,000 - $9,999.00 annually and to those assigned by the Manager.
  3. Communicate clearly and effectively with donors primarily by phone, handwritten correspondence, email, and web communications. On occasion, may need to give ministry tours.
  4. Build relationships with those donors to ascertain their interests in the ministry. Pray with donor when appropriate.
  5. Encourage donors with written/or video testimonies, reports, updates, while continuing to provide awareness of current needs. Coordinate with Communications on special reports to donors.
  6. Follow up donor mail appeals (4 per year) and proposals with phone calls to provide more information, answer questions regarding specific projects and ask the donor for a “step up” gift.
  7. Select specific donors from high end of mid-level donor file and prepare two proposal mailings per year, based on donor interest from conversations, research, and/or past giving history.
  8. Build relationship with these donors and increase their commitment to the ministry to a level that would be appropriate to add to Major Donor Development team caseloads.
  9. Assist the Major Donor Development team in making calls to give personal invitations to Josiah and other donor events, local and national.
  10. Assist with qualifying leads provided by the Major Donor Development team from events, meetings, boutique gatherings, first time giving, etc.
  11. Achieve and maintain revenue goals as established by Manager.
  12. Maintain files on all contacts with donors.
  13. Prepare weekly donor call activity reports to Manager.
  14. Perform other donor activities as may be required, which may include some occasional travel.
Position Requirements


  1. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred and/or 1-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Understanding of the needs and interests of donors in order to nurture relationships and deepen engagement between them and the organization, including ministry through listening, encouragement and prayer.
  3. Demonstrated ability and experience in asking for increased gifts or closing on major funding opportunities.
  4. Excellent people skills; warm and friendly, conversational and able to relate to and be in continual interaction and communication. Sensitivity to other cultures a plus.
  5. Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills reflecting concern for people.
  6. Excellent organizational/administrative skills; ability to effectively plan, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  7. Professional telephone techniques and etiquette and willingness to accommodate telephone calls to donors in different time zones.
  8. Work confidentially and with discretion.
  9. Problem-solving, research and analytical skills.
  10. Strong team player who also works well independently.
  11. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system experience.
  12. Occasional travel to assist Donor Development team with events.


  1. Knowledge of Bible translation work and organizations.
  2. Background in development, customer service or sales.
  3. SalesForce CRM experience.
