Location The Children's Guild- DC Public Charter School  

The Children's Guild Public Charter School opened its doors in August of 2015 in Washington DC. Our school focuses on the unique needs of children ages K-8. We offer a learning environment that blends the Children's Guild Tranzed philosophy of developing caring, committed and contributing young people forour community. The culture of our school is reinforced throughout our school
goals, curriculum, environment and systems. At the heart is our student centered approach to teaching and learning

Job Summary and Functions:

Teachers will provide instruction for students in a K-8 setting along with providing related educational services. Responsibilities include:

• Developing age and content appropriate lessons aligned to the Common Core State

Collaborating with other team members and administration

• Attending professional develop and staff meetings

• Following the school mission and instill the beliefs in our students

• Helping students gain critical, creative and problem solving skills

• Understanding and use a variety of data and data sources for planning

• Fair and accurate grade reporting

• Managing classroom culture and student behavior

• Utilizing data analysis and data driven decision making protocols for lesson planning and
delivery as for student support

• Supporting and participate in school wide activities

• Ensuring classroom is attractive, safe, and conducive for learning

• Effectivelycommunicating with parents and caregivers

• Commitment to Responsive Classroom philosophies and creating culturally competent
community of learners

• Commitment to principles of blended learning, inquiry based learning and project based

• Maintaining positive rapport with students and members of the school community

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited college or institution; have appropriate
licensures and 2-4 years' experience or training or an equivalent combinationof education/experience. Interested candidates must have a DC Teaching Certificate or be eligible to apply for one. Candidates with urban experience is highly preferred.
