Part Time Accounts Payable File Clerk 

Description

Applies to all activities and guidelines for operations performed by the Accounts Payable Clerk. The essential responsibilities of this job are to compile and maintain accounts payable records by performing the following duties:

  • Checks and approves all vouchers for payment, also prepares invoice deduction notices as necessary.
  • Audits freight bills against freight manifests.
  • Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approves prior to print.
  • Prepares accounts payable checks.
  • Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Assists in monthly closings.
  • Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
  • Answers all vendor inquires.
  • Other tasks maybe assigned as needed.
  • Part time hours M-F, 1 pm - 5 pm .
 
Position Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education and Training: An Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; two years related experience and/or training; a combination of experience and education is accepted.
  • Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: This job is usually in an office setting and the noise level is quiet.
