Maintenance Technician

We operate therapeutic group homes, a treatment foster care program, and family help center located in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County and Prince George County. We also service students in our nonpublic special education programs in Baltimore City and Prince George's County. The Children's Guild also operates public charter schools located in Anne Arundel and Baltimore City and will open our first DC charter school in September, 2015. Maintenance Technician

General Job Description:

Responsible for providing building maintenance expertise and general maintenance tasks as assigned, to all Guild locations and Charter Schools

Academic Preparation and/or Experience:

High School graduate and two years full-time employment in building maintenance. Possession of a valid Maryland Driver's license, class C, or the ability to obtain within 90 days and be over age twenty-one.


Responsible to the Director of Information Technology and Facility Maintenance..


An ability to prioritize, organize, and implement several tasks simultaneously. General maintenance skills. A neat clean personal appearance is maintained at all times. Ability to travel independently to ALL sites to perform duties.


  1. Carpentry tasks are completed properly.
  2. Break/Fix tasks are completed properly.
  3. General Maintenance tasks are completed properly
  4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  5. Responsible to complete assigned tasks in timeframe given.
  6. Ability to work safely and bring items to supervisor's attention when safety is a concern.
  7. Other duties as assigned

Workplace Expectations:

  1. Attendance is consistent
  2. Attendance and participation in culture card meetings is consistent.
  3. Guild Dress Code Policy is followed at all times.
  4. Proper procedure is followed in reporting to work each day.
  5. Following Guild Personnel Handbook.
