Corporate Accounting Manager

Description

- Responsible for directly managing the staff accounting team.

- Responsible for month-end close activities including monthly journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations

- Responsible for accurate and timely transaction processing for accounts payable, expense reporting, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, general accounting transactions, and tax compliance and tax returns

- Assist with agency deadlines and reporting

- Oversee inventory/cost of goods management reporting

- Develop and maintain the Company's accounting policies, establish appropriate controls and processes

- Assist in budget preparation

- Assist Director in supporting business initiatives, bank relationships, and private financings

- Responsible for timely statutory filings such as State Sales and Use Tax, Payroll Tax, Franchise Tax, property tax returns

- Ad-hoc duties and willingness to learn and take on new tasks both related and unrelated to accounting, including HR such as payroll, benefits and insurance administration.

 
Position Requirements

Preferred skill set:

- College degree with a BS in Accounting/Finance

- At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience

- Experience with full cycle corporate accounting required; strong, current knowledge of US GAAP.

- Experience with NetSuite and Ascentis a plus

- Ability to prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines

- Highest standards of accuracy, precision, and organization

- Self-starter, able to formulate solutions to new challenges, works independently to accomplish results
