SUMMARY: Responsible for providing cleaning services in assigned areas ensuring approved policies, procedures and standards are followed in all entities and properties under the control of Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures.

Responsible for the supervision and coordination of EVS staff activities throughout the casino in the absence of the shift manager.

Responds to and creates work orders on a daily basis.

Makes recommendations and suggestions to hire, promote, evaluate, reward and discipline Associates.

Responsible for advising routine maintenance and replacements necessary in assigned areas.

Accountable for cleanliness and overall condition of the public areas, restrooms and offices throughout the casino.

Responsible for ensuring approved Grand Casino policies, procedures and service standards are followed.

May be required to use and operate mechanical equipment.

Communicates daily work directives and communication in written or verbal form.

Responsible for communicating with managers of various departments for coordination and implementation of project goals and timelines.

Ensures timekeeping is kept within budget guidelines.

Creates cleaning and work schedules for staff.

Handles blood borne pathogens and bio-hazardous materials based on policy.

Ensures that all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment are used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions on the SDS sheets.

Maintains strict adherence of all OSHA safety rules and ensures regulations are followed.

Interacts with Guests and fellow Associates in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.

May be required to operate a company vehicle.

Any and all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements


One (1) year supervisory experience required.


Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.

Minimum one (1) year Environmental Services or commercial housekeeping experience required.

When operating a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license will be required.


If required, must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR’s.

Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).


Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.


Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.


Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and technical documents in order to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.


While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:

Talk and hear;

See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;

Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;

Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands;

Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.


While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:

A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).

Second-hand cigarette/cigar smoke.

Moving mechanical and/or electrical components.

Motorized equipment and machinery.

Chemical solutions such as cleaning and polishing compounds.

At times may be exposed to unusual indoor and outdoor elements such as extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, chemicals, fumes, vibration, airborne particles, dirt, dust and other hazards.
