Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. One (1) year experience in inventory control and/or maintaining a price book in retail or related field OR one (1) year combined merchandising experience with POS operation and involved competency regarding price book or back office familiarization.

  2. Six (6) Months customer service experience.

  3. High School Diploma or GED.

  4. Computer literate and experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  5. Hands on experience with point of sale system, margin analysis, price book, and/or Inventory system.

  6. Must possess excellent organizational skills.

  7. Effective communication skills - verbally able to provide instruction, respond to questions, and have exceptional friendly and professional interpersonal skills.

  8. Physically able to stand/sit for long periods at work/computer station and perform repetitive motion of arms, wrist and fingers.

  9. Able to bend, lift and maneuver large bulky items up to 50 lbs.

  10. Must have flexible schedule, and able to work regular shift hours, overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary.

  11. Must possess valid state driver's license.

  12. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

  13. Must be at least 18 Years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience with merchandising, price book and/or invetnory tracking software in a retail c-store, travel center or related field.

 
Description

JOB SUMMARY

Maintains Inventory data bases by accurately recording all associated items and information regarding inventory purchased, received, and transferred. Ensures compliance with established inventory control procedures. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Effectively communicate and provide reports to supervisor, general manager, and finance office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient and quality service.

  2. Set up and maintain inventory and invoiced items to facilitate accurate entry into and depletion through the point-of-sale and inventory tracking system.

  3. Assist merchandise supervisor by professionally communicating with suppliers/vendors regarding cost negotiation, guaranteed products, check-in/receiving, credits and completing necessary paperwork.

  4. Enter related information into the inventory system; generate variance reports by individual retail location, ensure accuracy and resolve variance issues.

  5. Reconciles and updates invoices to accurately reflect cost of sales, profit margin, promotions and changing trends.

  6. Assists monitoring and controlling Par levels, price points, and also track and monitor promotions.

  7. Independently able to generate and create a variety of reports related to merchandise management.

  8. Analysis of pricing trends and/or variances. Must demonstrate complete competency of category management.

  9. Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the inventory database.

  10. Enters retail information into the inventory system; generates variance reports and assist with investigation and variance resolution.

  11. Performs other merchandise related duties and tasks as assigned.

  12. Participate in physical inventory counts for various departments.

  13. Functions will require long periods of computer use, calculator, and 10 Key, which includes repetitive use of hands, wrist and fingers.

  14. Performs duties in compliance with company standards and generally accepted accounting practices. Comply with regulatory laws, PP&P. department policy and procedures, codes, etc.

  15. Must possess the ability to professionally and effectively work with others. Promote internal guest service standards by treating employees with courtesy and respect, reflecting a positive attitude.

  16. Handle inquiries promptly and efficiently, deferring disputes or conflicts to supervisor.

  17. Performs assigned duties promptly, accurately, efficiently and professionally.

  18. Promotes a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests.Promptly reports all concerns to supervisor.

  19. Ensure operation of equipment, tools, materials, etc. are handled in a safe manner.

  20. Self-starter with strong attention to detail skills and the capability to research and solve problems.

  21. Requires the ability to consistently demonstrate mathematical and literacy competency

  22. Shall attend meetings, training and/or travel as assigned.

  23. Other related duties as assigned.
