Share Email Opening Title Project Manager  Description Job Purpose: The role of a Quanta Subsurface Project Manager (PM) is to be responsible for the overall direction, execution, control and completion of projects consistent with the company's expectations for safety, profitability and schedule. Duties: Proactively manage safety and health of employees to continuously improve the company's safety and health performance Accountable for project performance / profitability / adherence with internal controls Provide proactive leadership and guidance on projects; including monitoring of schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance Manage the prime contract and all subcontracts on the project Complete (weekly or bi-weekly) project site walks in order to review feasibility, appropriateness and scope of proposed work and obtain necessary information regarding site specific details and restraints required to successfully accomplish objective of work safely and productively. Provide useful and detailed information regarding access, expected production rates, historical experiences and other identified potential variables to the Estimating team to assist in building reasonable contingencies and safeguards to risk. Maintain regular and professional communication with clients regarding proposed project approaches and details relevant to the client. Collaborate with internal teams (i.e. HR, Safety, Fabrication Shop, Warehouse, etc.) to plan and prioritize workload; procure equipment and supplies; ensure appropriate staffing plans and otherwise address risk mitigation prior to mobilization. Maintain presence and knowledge of on-site progress and deliverables. When not available to be physically on-site ensure communication with appointed Foreman/Supervisor/Lead person regarding: decision making authority and availability to address issues as they arise. Develop and communicate schedule and production milestones and maintain communication with key stakeholders regarding project status as it relates to milestones. Provide technical expertise and logistical support regarding troubleshooting of technical problems that arise to minimize impact to safety, schedule and profit. Collaborate with estimating, accounting and management, to maintain accurate representation of job costing, both incurred and forecasted. Monitor and facilitate project close out to minimize additional unplanned costs and confirm clients' expectations have been met. Develop executive summary of 'lessons learned' and significant impacts of decisions made within project that is presented to internal teams for future planning and troubleshooting. Collaborate with Contract Administration and Accounting to maintain appropriate records to satisfy 'daily backup' requirements for invoicing and communicate expectations to project staff. Maintain communication between Quanta Subsurface staff and client representatives throughout project to ensure appropriate effort applied towards expected outcomes and that decisions and risk acceptance are placed appropriately within the organization. Collaborate with Engineering by providing constructability reviews throughout the design process. Work with Engineering to ensure all the construction documents are in order and ensure installation meets design criteria.   Position Requirements Qualifications/Skills: Strong leadership, communication, planning, and analytical problem solving skills Knowledge of safety codes and regulations Self-directed, Highly organized, Attention to detail Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred but not mandatory Financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management Proven track record managing deep foundation/heavy civil construction projects with multiple subcontractors.
