Job Summary
The primary function of the Customer Return and Repair (CRR) Inspector 2 is to inspect products for compliance to specifications, drawings, workmanship standards and customers' contract or purchase order. The position requires proficiency in the inspection of electronic hardware and hardware form, fit and cleanliness. Types of inspection performed are incoming components, in-process, source/government and final inspections.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform:
- Receiving inspection on components received into the repair station for use, validating manufacturer's traceability requirements and issuing air-worthiness certificates as required
- Final inspection for all customer owned hardware in conjunction with FAR Part 145 or Part 21 as applicable.
- In-process inspection of repairs performed against industry, regulatory and contractual requirements such as IPC-610-A, IPC7711/7712 and repair orders.
- Proper disposal of discrepant hardware
- Data entry into the repair station database as necessary as part of the product acceptance completion process.
Conduct thorough reviews of Part 145 products shipped for:
- All repair work performed is documented accurately onto the maintenance report
- All referenced information on the maintenance report is complete, accurate and matches repair order requirements
- All test reports are complete, reviewed for pass/fail criteria
- All test equipment used for final acceptance are within calibration
- Airworthiness certificates are complete and comply with the repair order requirements for workmanship standards, drawings, specifications, internal sales order and customer repair order requirements.
Following repair station established procedures, guidelines and FAR requirements. Work with the CRR team to identify and continuously improve processes and update relevant documentation.
Interface with the CRR team and Contracts for ensuring repair station documentation and hardware are compliant to the repair order requirements.
Conduct age-sensitive material audits; support internal product, quality, regulatory and customer audits.
Support customer and internal corrective and preventative action activities to drive improved customer satisfaction
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Three years related experience working in an Aerospace or equivalent manufacturing or repair station environment performing in-process inspection, final inspection, shipping inspection and/or repair inspection.
Ability to read and comprehend contractual requirements, workmanship standards and industry regulations. Write and revise work instructions and procedures.
Familiarity with working in databases, electronic website portals and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Holds or has the ability to obtain repairman certificate per CFR Title 14 Part 65.
Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements (14 CFR Part 21, 65 and 145), electronic workmanship standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7712) a plus
Eligibility Requirement:
Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
