Position QA Test Engineer  
Description

The Quality Assurance Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing software tests in order to ensure product quality.

QA Test Engineer responsibilities include estimating, planning, developing test procedures, automated scripts, and conducting testing activities. You will also ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved in our defect tracking system. Working closely with Software Development team to resolve issues and recommend improvements in software and user interfaces. Research and champion new testing methods.

Responsibilities:

· Test software products for overall stability and reliability

· Create and manage test cases for regression; perform manual functional and performance testing of products; create automation test scripts where necessary

· Estimate, prioritize, plan, setup test environment, and conduct testing activities

· Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs using JIRA

· Troubleshoot problems and work with Software Engineering to resolve bugs

· Perform thorough regression testing

· Analyze test results and prepare test summary reports

· Provide usability feedback on UX/UI

· Document software installation and user guides

· Track departmental equipment inventory

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • Strong experience working with Windows Operating Systems

• Strong experience working with Microsoft Office

· Excellent PC troubleshooting skills

· Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

· Experience working in an Agile development process

· Experience with testing graphical user interfaces

· Minimum 3 years of QA/Software Test Experience

• Must be Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

• Knowledge of computer networking

· Knowledge of client/server architecture

· Experience with performance and/or security testing

• Experience with Microsoft Server administration

• Experience with Virtual and Cloud technologies

• Familiar with SQL

  • CompTIA A+, Network+ certification

 
Position Requirements

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

  • Proven working experience in software development

  • Proven working experience in software quality assurance

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft .net frameworks and scripting

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

  • Experience with testing graphical user interfaces

  • 8 plus years of Quality Assurance Test Experience

  • Must be Authorized to work in the United States
