About the Organization KMHS is Kitsap's nonprofit, designated community mental health provider for adults with acute and/or chronic serious mental illnesses, and children with serious emotional disturbances and their families. During 2016, KMHS provided services to more than 6,800 children and adults.

Location Kitsap Mental Health Services (Crisis Triage Facility)  
Description

PURPOSE:
Provide support to the Crisis Support Services Center (CSSC) staff. To work closely with other departments and external entities to ensure timely transfer of information according to agency procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Assist in maximizing revenue and accuracy in the data collection process by working closely with the accounting office regarding admits, discharges, and insurance information. Accurately complete and submit the signed financial agreements within agreed upon timeframes according to procedures.
  • Provide professional support to CSSC staff by performing clerical duties, including word processing, filing, copying, distributing mail, etc.
  • Inventory, order, and stock unit supplies.
  • Work with CSSC managers to maintain up to date policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with all timelines related to, but not limited to, correspondence log, faxing client discharge instructions, etc.
  • Endure provision of consistent record standards by entering demographic information on appropriate forms.
  • Assist nursing staff with coordinating of client appointments (transportation, rescheduling, canceling, etc.)
  • Be proficient at data entry and extraction with the several computer programs/systems on the unit. Add clients and episodes to Profiler as necessary, making sure to include all required information.
  • Responsible for setting census and closing episodes daily.
  • Copy, assemble, process and/or deliver nursing and transfer packets, discharge summaries, correspondence, forms, charts, lab results and specimens to appropriate recipients and in a timely manner.
  • Organize and maintain communications distributing information in a timely manner to ensure staff have information they need.
  • Assist with client transport for continuing treatment by arranging ambulance/secure transport for local hospitals and other facilities as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality while providing superior level of internal and external customer service.
  • Be familiar with the duties of the Receptionist and provide back-up coverage as needed.
  • Disclose limited client information as necessary to the position as trained by the Records Department Supervisor. Disclosures must adhere to HIPPA privacy and security standards and be logged in detail according to agency policy and procedures.
  • Complete al required training and annual refreshers

Position Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years general office or related experience. Must possess solid general office skills, including word processing and typing minimum of 45 wpm. This position requires exceptional time management organizational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
