SUMMARY:

The Teaching, Learning and Technology Division (TLTD) Writing Program Coordinator supports the US Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (USAICoE) writing program located on Fort Huachuca, AZ. The Coordinator shall perform a variety of actions and activities in support of the TLTD Writing Assessment program to include advise and assistance to the Government leads on program direction. The program uses the USAICoE Writing Handbook and supporting materials to support the USAICoE Writing Program with instruction, developing writing assignments, creating writing rubrics, and tutorial sessions (individual/group).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching, Learning and Technology Division (TLTD) Writing Program Coordinator. The contractor shall perform a variety of actions and activities in support of the TLTD Writing Assessment program. The contractor shall use the USAICoE Writing Handbook and supporting materials to support the USAICoE Writing Program with instruction, developing writing assignments and creating writing rubrics. All instruction will be compliant with TRADOC Regulation 350-70, USAICoE 350-70, all applicable TRADOC Pamphlets and all relevant emerging and approved doctrine.

The Training and Learning Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • Conduct an evaluation of writing instruction, assignments, and writing rubrics currently used in USAICoE courses using the USAICoE Writing Handbook as a guide.
  • Recommend changes to instruction, writing assignments, or rubrics to ensure correlation to the USAICoE Writing Standard as described in the Writing Handbook.
  • Support USAICoE personnel in instruction updates, assignment, or rubrics as identified with Government approval.
  • Conduct analysis resulting in an instructional design plan which will closely identify training gaps in the instructor cadre as well as provide writing instruction to USAICoE students and instructors.
  • Conduct Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)-specific training and writing instruction in support of the Writing Program to USAICoE students and instructors, for approximately 90 Courses.
  • Assist in the development, update, and maintenance of writing specific course materials to include but not limited to lesson plan (LP) data and outlines for all USAICoE courses that reflect the guidance provided and best practices in English composition, learning, and editing.
  • Report on Writing Program metrics to include collecting and collating writing program metrics as provided by the training battalions/Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA).
  • Assist in the development of briefs, written products and other communication materials about the USAICoE Writing Program.
  • Travel in support of training RC/NG Soldiers, the 344th MI BN and to participate in workgroups regarding the expansion of the USAICoE writing program to other TRADOC institutions, as requested by Government.
    • As a result, anticipated travel consist of 2each (5 day) trips to Atlanta GA and 1 each (5 day) trip to El Paso TX ) per year.
    • Provide a trip report within five working days of return.
 
Position Requirements
  • Experience instructing English composition, developing supporting training materials and developing grading rubrics.
  • Ablity to manage and lead change in a rapidly evolving military training environment.
  • Master’s Degree in English, Communication, Composition or Teaching English as a Second Language from an accredited institution.
  • Top Secret (TS) with Special Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.

DESIRED:

  • Army experience – actual or working with Army cadre
  • Rubrics experience – use and development
