Human Resources Coordinator 


Mystic Seaport Museum is currently looking for a Part-time (20 hours per week) Human Resources Coordinator to support the Director of Human Resources and the Payroll /HR Administrator by performing a variety of HR functions.

Responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Create offer letters and follow up with new hires regarding paperwork
  • Manage onboarding process
  • Process new hire paperwork
  • Maintain all employee files
  • Coordinate/order annual Recognition Awards for staff
  • Respond to unemployment claims
  • Perform employment verifications
  • Answer HR related questions
  • Maintain Mystic Seaport Museum Intranet
  • Assist with planning and executing of staff events

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree as well as 1-2 Years of Human Resources experience. Individuals need to possess a level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Wordpress as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should be able to prioritize and organize workload and be detail oriented. Excellent customer service and relationship building skills are absolute requirements. The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations and to appropriately use discretion and sound judgment is required.
