Summary:
The Education Specialist supports the Quartermaster Museum by developing and conducting educational programs. The Quartermaster Museum collects, preserves, exhibits, and interprets the history or the Quartermaster Corps. Education Specialists reinforce the Army profession in their design of professional development programs.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
Developing and conducting educational programs
Designing educational leadership and heritage training programs for soldiers
Designing professional development programs that reinforce the Army profession and incorporate museum exhibits, artifacts, and archival materials
Presenting to large groups
Instructing guests on exhibits
Assisting in the daily operations of the museum
Managing the communication flow of requests for information and ensuring receipt by appropriate party
Interpreting internal policies
Tracking and analyzing reports
Preparing materials to be used in classes that utilize the Army Learning Model
Identifying customer needs
Researching and archiving appropriate materials
Required Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the adult level
Experience instructing in a formal and non-formal learning environment
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills
Ability to present and speak before large groups
Ability to work weekends, if needed
Ability to work with minimum guidance
Able to stand, walk or bend for long periods at a time
Able to lift up to 45 pounds
Basic knowledge of MS Office computer programs
Knowledge of the Army Learning Model
Desired Qualifications:
Previous museum experience
Clearance: Must pass a Tier 1 investigation that has been favorably adjudicated by the DoD CAF (or locally) for CAC eligibility and network access (IT-3 access for government.mil email account).
