Summary:
The Operations Specialist supports the Army Women's Museum by managing workflow and optimizing day-to-day activities. The U.S. Army Women's Museum honors women's contributions to the Army while providing educational opportunities, military history training, and instruction to soldiers. Operations Specialists are detailed oriented people with an ability to see the big picture and are integral to the success of the organization.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
Presenting to large groups
Instructing guests on exhibits
Assisting in the daily operations of the museum
Managing the communication flow of requests for information and ensuring receipt by appropriate party
Interpreting internal policies
Tracking and analyzing reports
Identifying customer needs
Developing and maintaining exhibits and records
Ensuring proper storage and handling of collections
Researching and archiving appropriate materials
Required Qualifications:
Three years' military experience as a former Officer or NCOIC (MSG or SGM) of a Brigade or Battalion operation section
Three years' experience in an operations section or one year of recent successful experience supporting QMS BDE/BN operations section
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills
Ability to present and speak before large groups
One year research and archival experience in a museum setting
Possess superior written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with minimum guidance
Able to stand, walk or bend for long periods at a time
Able to lift up to 45 pounds
Basic knowledge of MS Office computer programs
Desired Qualifications:
Battle Staff qualified
Phase II Support Operations Course graduate
Former officers must be Combined Logistics Captains Career Course graduates
Clearance: Must pass a Tier 1 investigation that has been favorably adjudicated by the DoD CAF (or locally) for CAC eligibility and network access (IT-3 access for government.mil email account).
