SUMMARY: Responsible to assist with the successful coordination and administration of the recruitment and staffing function for the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Responsible to assist with administration and coordination of recruitment and staffing functions such as employment, recruitment, hiring and testings, as assigned.

  • Maintain and organize effective employment programs for the protection of Guests and Associates.

  • Assist employment applicants and associates with all recruitment and staffing inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner.

  • Communicate relevant recruitment and staffing information to Associates through communication meetings, associate newsletters, bulletin boards and/or memorandums.

  • Performs data entry using word processing, spreadsheet or database, and formats material required.

  • Proof material entered and generates data reports as required.

  • Reviews discrepancies of employment information collected, requests clarification and/or advises supervisor of issues related to the employment information.

  • Posts and processes job openings including the maintenance of posting bulletin boards.

  • Conducts department specific interviews as assigned.

  • Assist with all job fairs.

  • Contacts all new hires and departments when orientation no-shows occur.

  • Conducts pre-employment Alcohol and Drug testing.

  • Perform routine administrative duties required by the recruitment and staffing department.

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with managers, members of the business community such as Gaming Regulatory Authority, vendors and various employment agencies.

  • Displays a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment and the ability to deal with confidential matters.

  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

  • Must have one (1) year experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

  • Minimum of one (1) year Human Resource or clerical experience required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.

  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

  • Responsible for following all relevant DGRs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear;

  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision;

  • Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;

  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.

  • Lift and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

  • A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

  • A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).

  • Second-hand cigarette/cigar smoke.
