Summary:
Instructors at the US Army Ordnance School ensure the combat commander is supported during Army, joint, and combined operations by providing Mechanical and Maintenance proponency expertise, materiel concept suggestions, and organizational structure input to Combat Developers; produce mission focused, motivated Ordnance officers, warrant officers, enlisted Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and civilians who are technically competent in the mechanical maintenance management, diagnostic equipment arenas; and provide Soldier and family support systems that support the Ordnance Soldier and family.
Instructors for Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic operations and support (91B) courses provide services at the highest standards ensuring the operating forces have skilled and prepared soldiers. These services ensure the mission and safety of soldiers are not at risk.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
Prepare classroom, training area, and training materials this includes reviewing lesson plans, subject matter material, preparing recovery training aids, and ensuring that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized.
Maintain Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on all vehicle/equipment IAW recommendations as dictated by the Technical Manual and notify the Chief Instructor, COR and/or Course Manager of non-mission capable equipment.
Conduct academic counseling; complete counseling record, grade written and performance tests, supervise students at all times, evaluate student performance, prepare and forward required documentation to the COR on any student released prior to graduation.
Review outdated training materials and lesson plans within the respective course, based on lessons learned and new training requirements mandated by TRADOC. Any revisions/updates made by the Instructor/Writer shall be annotated as a 'redline change' and submitted to the COR.
Recommend changes and evaluate training material and curriculums to determine effectiveness and determine that they meet desired training outcomes.
Provide professional and technical information and advice for training strategy outcomes.
Strive to improve instruction by suggesting and attempting different approaches and methods.
Initiate minor changes to improve course layout or to add additional material.
serve as a principal source of technical information on which course revisions actions are based.
review and recommend changes to doctrinal publications related to course instruction.
Assist in the review of job analysis, task inventory, job task data cards, and task analysis information sheets.

Evaluate student achievement and identifies student learning difficulties for particular low and high ability students or groups and improves instruction through the application of innovative or advanced instructional techniques. Improve instruction through the application of innovative or advanced instructional techniques.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required. The Instructor/Writer shall check out equipment for optimum operation, any item of equipment including test instruments and mock- ups and report malfunction in order that corrective action may be taken. The Instructor/Writer shall make recommendations and corrections for improved system performance based on direct knowledge and experience.
Required Qualifications:
Complete the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) MOS or ASI- specific technical training and pass the student test for the Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Course (91B).
Meet technical and tactical certification requirements and document experience level requirements as defined in the Course Management Plan (CMP)
Have satisfactorily completed the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC) or its equivalent prior to executing instructional duties.
Have satisfactorily completed the Installation Staff and Contractor Training Course (ISCTC) or its equivalent prior to executing instructional duties.
Be proficient with MS office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Have superior written and verbal communication skills and be able to work with minimum guidance.
Possess a minimum of three (3) years specific experience in teaching, development or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military training programs for the specific MOS.
Have knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding MOS or ASI-specific training
Be able to perform duties regarding moderate lifting (not to exceed 45 pounds), long periods of standing, sitting or walking and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion
Be able to work with minimum guidance
Have EPA Section 609 - Clean Air Act 1990 Certification prior to starting work on this contract
