SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing accurate, timely information to guests about Eddy's and Grand Casino policies, services and amenities, ensuring optimum guest service and satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Assists guest with check-in process at the Hotel in a courteous and polite manner.

  • Assist guest with checkout in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Ensures that the check-in and check-out process is handled in accordance with company policy by processing cash, credit card and credit transactions accurately, thus protecting the company's assets.

  • Works with the Bell Staff, Valet, and Housekeeping, to ensure a high level of guest service.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of the Company's property, as well as special events on and near property, in order to advise guest of the same, whenever possible.

  • Responds to guest requests, complaints or inquiries courteously and promptly.

  • Enters changing reservation information into computer system.

  • Posts charges to guest accounts and processes payment of accounts.

  • Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

  • Operates Hotel switchboard and/or PBX.

  • Prepares shift cash report, balancing payments and disbursements with computer total, preparing the drop envelope for shift end, and balancing of accounts.

  • Is knowledgeable (cross-trained) in other positions within the Hotel.

  • Displays a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment and the ability to deal with confidential matters.

  • Held accountable, for the control, accuracy and thoroughness of all records and reports.

  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess excellent communication skills; Previous hotel experience preferred.

  • Must be able to demonstrate all aspects of hospitality, professionalism, prompt and courteous service, positive demeanor in stressful situations, and attention to detail at all times.

  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.

  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

  • Responsible for following all relevant DGR’s.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must be able to comprehend instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or concerns.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear;

  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;

  • Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;

  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.

  • Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

  • A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

  • A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).

  • Second-hand cigarette/cigar smoke.

  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions.
