Duties and Responsibilities:

Gain practical experience with XPERI's DTS:X immersive audio technology and ecosystem, including MDA mixing tools and processes; the DTS:X mixing production workflow for global cinema and Blu-ray content; the DTS:X theatrical exhibitor network; and DTS:X technology in Virtual Reality contexts

  1. Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Opportunities
  • Learn about and be exposed in a professional production environment to the process of mixing cinema and Blu-ray content with MDA tools to create DTS:X mixes.
    • Assist in managing the DTS:X immersive audio production workflow
    • Observe cinema & Blu-ray mix sessions
    • Participate in DTS:X mix quality control (QC) sessions
    • Attend client QC sessions of completed DTS:X mixes
    • Become knowledgable about Xperi production partners and understand their roles and responsibilities within the production of DTS:X immersive audio mixes
  • Collect data from DTS:X theatrical exhibition partners worldwide about their systems, equipment, workflows, key personnel and Xperi contacts. Build and maintain a searchable database of this information.
  • Support communications with global DTS:X theatrical exhibition partners to raise awareness and proactive demand for DTS:X films. Work closely with theatrical exhibition partners to ensure DTS:X films are playing as scheduled.
  • Gain exposure to development and integration of DTS:X immersive technology into the emerging world and workflows of Virtual Reality.
  • Collaborate with Xperi Marketing to support events promoting the use of DTS:X in cinema (screenings) and Virtual Reality (demos).
 
Position Requirements
  • Intrinsic passion for audio and for making the world sound better
  • General understanding of post-production workflows
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel experience
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Receptive to input and suggestions, open-minded about options and solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be a college student attending an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
