MedImmune is pioneering innovative research and exploring novel pathways across key therapeutic areas, including respiratory, inflammation and autoimmunity; cardiovascular and metabolic disease; oncology; neuroscience; and infection and vaccines. We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Science, Engineering or related major for an internship during the summer of 2018. This internship opportunity is with the Global Technical Operations department. The objective of this internship is to work closely with the GTO staff and Bioprocess Development staff to gain an understanding of how single use technologies (SUT) are evaluated for our industry. There will be an introductory period which will include an introduction to biologic manufacturing processes and how these processes utilize SUT. Core Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities for this position would be to develop a database of the SU materials used for several manufacturing processes that will be used to perform a safety risk assessment of these SUT materials from leachable compounds   Position Requirements Position Requirements: Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Calculus Familiarity with separation technology, biochemistry or chemical engineering Good communication skills since this individual will interact with scientists from different functions.
