SUMMARY:

Responsible for overall administration of all operations and functions of Slot Services and Slot Maintenance, in alignment with the Mission and Objectives of the Company, and in full accordance with all operational policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Formulates and administers department policies and activities, and develops both short and long term goals and objectives for the department, in alignment with those of the property.

Prepare Annual Operating and Capital Budgets for review and approval.

Regularly reviews and evaluates slot services and slot technical departmental performances, working through division directors to take appropriate steps in resolving unsatisfactory results or conditions.

Performs analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department and organizational progress toward stated goals and objectives.

Confers with General Manager to review achievements and discuss needed changes in goals or objectives resulting from current or projected future status or conditions.

Reviews and approves or denies recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, terminate, recall, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign, train, develop, reward or discipline all Associates in the department, as necessary.Maintains appropriate staffing levels.

Oversees the coordination of slot machine moves with Director of Slot Technical Operations, slot manufacturers and appropriate in house personnel.

Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and attendant regulations as well as the Company’s internal controls, policies and procedures.

Provide a high level of Guest Service by setting priorities for slot services with Director of Slot Service Operations, providing guidance and assistance as needed.

Position Requirements

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

  • Directly supervises Director of Slot Service Operations, Director of Slot Technical Operations and Director of Slot Special Projects; indirectly supervises all other Slots Associates.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred or high school diploma and ten years’ experience in management positions within the gaming or hospitality industries required.

  • Six years in casino Slot Management Operations required.

  • Casino Management Certificate preferred.

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of Slot Technical Operations and Slot Service Operations required.

  • Must be computer-literate with specific proficiency in Microsoft word and Excel applications required.

  • Must be able to secure appropriate licensing from the gaming commission.

  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Slot Technical Operations and Director of Slot Special Projects; indirectly supervises all other Slots Associates.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to: define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
