Although the location of the position is in Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to: Leads a team of employees and prioritizes work Ensures a safe and productive work environment Trouble shoots and resolves immediate issues with production Ability to receive components Ability to start and end production orders Understand and support the needs of inventory management Must be able to understand written work instructions Meets the expected timelines Must maintain a safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures, policies and regulations. Organizes leads and trains employees to complete products within established guidelines and time frames. Fulfills all regular production duties and completes required paperwork in a timely manner. Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including input into crewmember discipline, documentation. Qualifications Experience: Skilled at one or more of the manufacturing functions in the cell: Mechanical Assembly, Specials, Engineering Change Orders, Panel production, or Rail packaging 3 years of experience with a team lead/supervisor/management role Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated experience in using hand tools Proficiency in computer use (MS Office) and communication tools Fast and effective problem solving abilities Process improvement experience Ability to lead and train a diverse group Good interpersonal skills Ability to work independently Thorlabs values its diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
