POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Director of Business Development to pursue information technology and cyber work across the U.S. Department of Defense This position, located in any state in US, will report directly to the CEO who is responsible for developing our IT and Cyber business and capabilities across the Federal market. Candidate will have a strong understanding of the major programs and acquisition methods used by the U.S. Department of Defense for IT and Cyber
solutions. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of the assigned account, including their IT infrastructure, mission solution requirements and challenges.
General Description of Duties:
  1. Build, mature and execute comprehensive account plans that deliver desired customer awareness and awards.
  2. Identify and qualify a robust pipeline of focused opportunities that align with I&S core IT and Cyber capabilities and strategies.
  3. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with end users and acquisition officials to identify customer objectives, priorities, and requirements and to position the company for account growth.
  4. Develop and maintain strong industry relations with large and small businesses with significant presence in the assigned markets.
  5. Participate on opportunity capture teams representing customer and market dynamics to position to win.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field, or equivalent work experience is required. MBA preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of customer mission, buying behaviors (acquisition organizations), and major programs and systems. Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market. Demonstrated success in being a key contributor in winning contracts >$100M. Current customer contacts and the ability to maintain customer relationships with senior or director level officials.

Skills: Creation of strategic account outlining vision, objectives, strategies and tactics consistent with corporate strategies and objectives, and action plans. Developing overall win strategy. Experience participating as a valued contributor on opportunity captures; capture role includes:

  • Developing overall win strategy;
  • Shaping deal with Customer;
  • Developing team strategies, and identifying and closing with teammates;
  • Understanding pricing and assist in developing winning price; and
  • Strong analytical skills to assess customer requirements and competitor strategies.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
