PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE
Assist with leading meat associates in accomplishing Meat Departmental goals. To enforce department’s policy and procedures while influencing associates to become customer-driven and responsive to their meat needs.
KEY JOB TASKS
Involves choosing, cutting and packaging meat inventory to satisfy market demand. Check and organize backrooms to know what quantities are on hand. Keep abreast of holidays to ensure that meat, fish and poultry market demands can be met. Communicate frequently with the Meat Supervisor towards this end.
Attractively merchandise meat products with clear variations in cuts and prices to provide customers with choices. Rotate meat inventory ensuring first in first out (FIFO). Re-work and repackage meat inventory as often as necessary. Replenish meat cases and coffins before each shift, during lulls and at the shift end. Assist with ‘on the job’ training initiatives.
Assist with the receiving of all meat related products to ensure accurate counts, condition of inventory, and the proper and timely storage of all meat inventories.
Loss & Damage, Shrink Intervention
Proactively address over/under ordering of meat inventory. Maintain an organized backroom and storage area, incorporate FIFO method. Promptly and accurately record and report all meat write-offs after receiving approval from the meat supervisor.
Minimize Safety Risks – Assist with thorough clean up of all meat cases and backrooms (sanitation) daily. Oversee frequent checks for expiration dates. Ensure that associates are adhering to all Policies, Procedures, safety rules and ensure that only qualified associates are operating
