DAWSON has a 3-month term opportunity for a technical writer, contingent upon contract award in the Washington D.C. area. The technical writer:

• Collaborates with systems engineers, architects, and integrated product team Subject Matter Experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
• Assists in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, operating instructions, etc.
• Writes and/or edits technical documents, presentations, and other materials to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Performs quality control over technical documentation and other materials for delivery to customer.

 
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
• Associates Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a technical related field, preferably in cyber security, computer science, engineering or information systems or equivalent experience and three (3) years of technical writing experience
• 2+ years technical writer experience
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Experience writing technical documentation, procedures, and guidelines
• Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Professional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and on global teams
PREFERRED:
• Experience in development of DoD systems documentation
• Knowledge of DoD training and personnel knowledge, skills, and abilities evaluation programs
• 1+ years working within an Agile development environment
• Experience with cybersecurity analytic tools such as IBM Qradar (SIEM and Resilient), VMware Vcenter, Carbon Black, Microsoft Enterprise Services, Blue Coat Proxy Management Center, Blue Coat Security Analytics Management Symantec End Point protection, Nexpose Rapid7, Enterprise Gigamon/GigaVUE, Viavi, and RedSeal Security Analytics
