Gift Shop Manager FT/RO (Resume required)

Responsible for the successful overall management for the Gift Shop and Uniform Room, through development

and direction of the Gift Shops and Uniform Room Operations, in accordance with company policies, budget,

procedures and specifications.

? Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the Gift Shops and Uniform Room by interviewing, selecting,

training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and separating Associates as needed.

? Oversees monthly inventory of Gift Shops and Uniform Room merchandise.

? Ascertains that merchandise in the Gift Shops and Uniform Room is accurately inventoried and displayed in

its best advantage.

? Utilizing effective communication skills, creatively resolves problems in the Gift Shops and Uniform rooms.

? Response to special requests of guests as well as guest complaints and inquiries in a calm, prompt,

courteous manner.

? Reviews Sales Reports and addresses potential conflicts and/or misinformation as needed.

? Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction In the Gift Shop and Uniform Room is achieved

and maintained.

? Facilitates the flow of information throughout the Gift Shop and Uniform Room by organizing and presiding

over regularly scheduled department meetings with all Gift Shop and Uniform staff.

? Meet with prospective Vendors as deemed necessary and make recommendations to Vice

President/Director of Hotels, Retail and Resorts as to variety of merchandise stocked and displayed.

? Work closely with purchasing to insure all items received are sellable and returns are handled according to

policy and procedures.

? Held accountable to a high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of department records and reports.

Must be able to respond and back up any discrepancies or variance in paperwork and inventories.

? Responsible for reviewing and documenting all over/shorts.

? Responsible for timekeeping within the department.

? Responsible for the auditing of the Gift Cards and other inventoried items.

? Responsible for appraisals and documentation in calendars on Associates.

? Responsible for monthly variance reports.

? Responsible for generating and achieving annual fiscal budgets.


? Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.

? Encourage mutual respect among associates by setting positive examples.

? Maintain a professional reputation in the company and community.


? Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university or four (4) years retail experience required, with

progressive supervisory/managerial experience.

? Minimum of three (3) years of management experience required.

? Or, successful completion of a related company approved development placement program.


? Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

? Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.

? Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.


? Must be computer-literate with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications.

? Responsible for following all relevant DGR's.

? Must possess excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.


? Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

? Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized

gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.


? Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,

percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical



? Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data,

analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.


While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:

? Talk and hear;

? See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision;

? Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;

? Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.

? Lift and/or move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.


While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

? A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

? A moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas
