DAWSON has a 6-month term opportunity for a virtual systems administrator, contingent upon contract award initially in the Washington D.C. area with implementation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The virtual systems administrator:
• Implements, maintains, and supports virtual systems infrastructure.
• Implements, maintains, and supports virtual systems storage solutions (vSAN).
• Provides Level 3 technical support for Redhat Linux Environment and IBM WebSphere environments.
• Creates virtual server instances on VMware ESX server for Windows, RHEL 6/7, centos, ubuntu and Linux.
• Maintains and monitors all patch releases and designs various patch installation strategies and maintains all systems according to NIST standardization.
• Develops automation solutions and works in a highly automated environment.
• Deploys web sphere applications servers.
• Supports and provides technical solutions experience to resolve service incidents and identify and resolve root causes of problems.
• Designs, installs, configures, administers latest version of Operating Systems as per the requirements for VMware, Windows and Linux environments.
• Performs hardware maintenance of server ESX designing configuring ESX& vSphere creates Data enter and adding hosts.
• Creates virtual machines and allocates resources according to business requirements and installs the OS using ISO.
• Performs software package administration to include adding software packages/patches and deleting software packages/patches.
• Performs system performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting user related and server problems and capacity planning.
• Understands DNS, Networking, Protocols, Bash & Python preferred
• Understands network infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security, etc.)
• Executes strategic infrastructure and systems designs.
• Installs, configures, and manages network and storage solutions.
• Optimizes network hardware, software, servers, storage, and communications infrastructure.
• Ensures infrastructure redundancy and disaster recovery processes function properly.
• Evaluates new systems information technologies and their effect on the environment.
• Configures server hardware and software in accordance to cybersecurity security policies, principles, and practices.
• Performs daily maintenance and reports on systems.
• Performs install, setup, and maintenance of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
• Performs install, setup, and maintenance of Active Directory Users, Groups, and Policies.
• Creates and manages OS and computer software end item images and configurations.
• Performs asset management for assigned hardware, software, and equipment.
• Performs network hardware checkout, assembly, and install activities.

 
Position Requirements

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required from an accredited college or university in a technical related field, preferably in cyber security, computer science, engineering or information systems or 5+ years equivalent professional job-related experience.
• 3+ years network administration experience.
• CompTIA A+ certification
• Advanced experience with VMware vSphere/vSAN, SQL Server, and Windows Server
• Experience with Microsoft Server and with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager software
• Experience with Active Directory.
• Experience with LANs, WANs, LANs, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Routers, and Switches.
• Up to 30% overseas travel will be required to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and on global teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Certifications: ITIL, VMWare (VMWare Certified Professional), Microsoft
• CompTIA Network+ certification
• Strong understanding of IT security principles, technologies, best practices, and NIST guidance with experience in standards-compliance
• Experience with virtualized networks or VMware Certified Professional
• Experience with cybersecurity analytic tools such as IBM Qradar (SIEM and Resilient), VMware Vcenter, Carbon Black, Microsoft Enterprise Services, Blue Coat Proxy Management Center, Blue Coat Security Analytics Management Symantec End Point protection, Nexpose Rapid7, Enterprise Gigamon/GigaVUE, Viavi, and RedSeal Security Analytics
