Description

We are hiring offshore H2S Advisors with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the Atlantic Canada offshore oil & gas industry with recognized certifications that relate to CNSOPB, CAPP, NEBOSH, and OPITO. An H2S Advisor’s main objective is to ensure that workers in hazardous or dangerous areas are provided with the necessary service and equipment required to maintain a safe work environment. The H2S Advisor is expected to read, understand, and comply with HSE Integrated’s safety policies and job procedures, as well as provincial and industry laws, regulations and codes of practice.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with client representative on day-to-day operations

  • Provide safety support to client representatives including any reasonable requests outside normal duties

  • Maintain equipment, vehicles, and work areas in clean, tidy, and professional manner

  • Provide complete and accurate handover information to relieving H2S Advisor

  • Maintain a mature and professional relationship with all personnel in the work area, co-workers, and HSE Integrated supervisors / managers

  • Assist managers in providing training to less experienced co-workers

  • Ensure training competency goals are met as laid out in “Training and Competencies”

  • Participate and co-operate with HSE Integrated management in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all Policies and Procedures programs

  • Ensure that all pertinent paperwork is completed accurately, neatly and in a timely manner

  • Understand the functions and maintenance of the equipment operating

  • Report and communicate regularly to Central Dispatch on the following critical changes necessary that may directly affect dispatch (Emergency situations; accommodation check out; occurrences on the job site; additional personnel or equipment that may be required; changing locations and departure of locations)

  • Maintain a daily journal of all activities directly related to the job

  • Report all deficiencies to senior staff and/or direct supervisor

 
Position Requirements
  • All standard field level tickets (current): H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection
  • Advanced Atmospheric Testing
  • Basic Offshore Safety Training
  • Helicopter Underwater Egress Training
  • Respiratory Protection (SCBA, SABA)
  • Marine First Aid and Marine OH&S
  • Marine Emergency Duties
  • Ability to run a day/ night shift on a non-critical operation
  • Ability to rig in / rig out gas detection and air trailer, and provide crew training
  • Conduct H2S drill, man down drill and H2S task-specific safety meetings
  • Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level
  • Preference will be given to local candidates
