POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) will work with a team of Quality Assurance Specialists, Instructional Designers and Creative Developers to review, edit, and analyze web-based and instructor-led training products. The QAS is responsible for ensuring all training products functional as intended and meet the project specific quality standards. In this position, you will work as part of a team to develop high quality, innovative Training and Education (T&E) products for The Army Distributed Learning Program (TADLP). The team will design, develop, and deliver an extensive range of distributed learning T&E products to include Interactive Multimedia Instruction, Digital Learning Content Objects, Analysis Products, Gaming, 3D Modeling and Simulations, augmented and virtual reality. The work will be performed at our office located in downtown San Antonio, TX. Specific tasks and responsibilities will include:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and edit storyboards for web-based and instructor-led training products
• Perform functional testing and analysis of web-based training products, across multiple platforms and devices
• Test and evaluate web-based training courses in multiple environments, including a Learning Management System or CD-ROM based applications
• Identify and analyze course defects per established QA processes and procedures
• Provide verbal or written feedback to Instructional Designers and Creative Developers
• Test audio, graphics, and interactive templates as a part of courseware design
• Test gaming and simulations
• Adhere to style guides and project standards for development across multiple projects
• Work with the QA team to continually improve standards, checklists, and other processes and documentation.

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Required Education & Skills: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience writing/editing instructional materials or related experience.
  • Experience with multiple style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, AP, MLA, APA).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Experience in software testing, quality assurance, and ADA Section 508 testing a plus.
