Accounting Services Staff 

Description

Position Summary:

The Accounting Services Staff is responsible for processing assigned client engagements within the department in a cost-effective and professional manner including, but not limited to, computer-compiled financial statement engagements, outsourced Controller services, QuickBooks support and payroll tax/sales tax reporting issues.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process financial statements and all related payroll, sales and business tax returns personally assigned within the Accounting Services Department
  • Assist clients with individualized accounting needs and tax compliance
  • Prepare payroll and sales tax returns and annual W-2's and 1099's
  • Prepare bank reconciliations monthly, if needed
  • Research accounts payable and accounts receivable issues as needed.
  • Assist Directors with initial client visits for prospective Accounting Services clients
  • Assist Directors with tax planning or special client projects
  • Assist new or existing clients with business start-ups
  • Maintain daily record of time spent on engagements
  • Assure timely turnaround of assigned and supervised engagements
  • Travel to clients and access to an automobile is required

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • 4+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience, public accounting experience a plus

Skills:

  • Very strong knowledge of QuickBooks software
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word
  • Ability to function in a team environment
  • Ability to interface with a variety of management levels
