Under the direction of the Director of Marketing the Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the administrative functions of the Marketing Department with particular focus on copywriting, Social Media, record upkeep in the email contact database, website updates, analytics reporting, report generation and meeting coordination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Concepting, copywriting, editing and proofing of marketing materials to include TV and Radio PSAs, print ads, flyers, brochures and videos.
  2. Write, create and schedule regular e-blast communications.
  3. Write and distribute press releases and media alerts.
  4. Coordinates with media outlets for events and other inquiries, including representing OV as spokesperson as needed; distribution of and requests to run/air/print advertising assets such as print ads, billboards and TV and Radio PSAs.
  5. Manage Social Media program, including content and imagery creation, scheduling, pre-, post- and live event coverage and audience engagement.
  6. Maintain and update email contact records.
  7. Generate reports including weekly Marketing Department project status, social media metrics, media coverage and mentions, marketing department campaign results, etc.
  8. Manage website analytics and other reports and spreadsheets as needed.
  9. Arrange and organize meetings and tours.
  10. Maintain all assigned correspondence, agendas, minutes and action items.
  11. Maintain department supplies.
  12. Word processing and assistance in composing correspondence.
  13. Maintain the Director of Marketing’s calendar/schedule.
  14. Answer and respond to telephone calls and common emails while assuring the referring of higher level inquiries to Director.
  15. Plan and coordinate meetings to include materials and refreshments.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, computer, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision; effectively and efficiently organize and prioritize workload to meet constantly changing demands.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness with enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Creative thinking and writing.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructions and provide clear information orally and in writing.
  • Requires excellent grammar and well developed organizational skills
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook
  • Must possess basic math skills (i.e. adding, subtracting, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Marketing Degree and/or four years related work experience in related field (Marketing).
  • Preferred: One (1) year of verifiable work experience in a clerical/administrative field.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of Google AdWords
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
