Description

Boundless, a community mental health agency serving Central Ohio and the surrounding areas, offering a variety of services designed to support the ongoing needs of our community. Offerings include customized and integrated care that combines behavioral counseling and therapy, pharmacological management, center-based educational service, speech therapy and other mental health services under one umbrella to help our consumers across all ages to achieve the best outcomes in school, home and work.

Boundless is currently looking for highly a motivated Behavior Technician. Duties to be conducted at Highland Community Learning Center serving children and teens with ASD and other developmental disabilities.

This is a Full-Time, Hourly position. No nights; no weekends! Monday - Friday 7:30pm - 4:00pm.

Major tasks, duties and responsibilities:

Primary job responsibility is to implement behavioral health and educational services using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis with individuals diagnosed with autism, related mental health disorders and intellectual disabilities in support of the education services provided at Highland Community Learning Center. Receive supervision and training from behavior analytic and mental health supervisors through direct observation and team meetings.

  • Deliver instruction and assessments following procedures learned from initial and ongoing training sessions and based on feedback given from supervisors.
  • Implement skills acquisition and behavior reduction plans with fidelity as provided during initial training and from ongoing training and feedback from supervisors.
  • Implement behavioral health treatment by providing intensive treatment services based off the individuals mental health needs including but not limited to skills development, problem solving, conflict resolution, and emotions/behavior management, developing positive coping mechanisms, and managing mental health and behavioral symptoms to enhance vocations/school opportunities and/or independent living.
  • Implement crisis interventions as needed and when approved.
  • Collect and analyze data and records of service accurately following Boundless procedures.
  • Maintain designated consumer’s data collection methods, documents, records and materials related to his treatment and educational plans. Assist in monitoring goal progression. Identifies and document when interventions are needed for specific goals due to lack of progression.
  • Attended and participate in all treatment and educational team meetings, program meetings and staff development opportunities.
  • Seeks, receive and apply feedback appropriately and professionally and work towards goals developed by supervisors.
  • Communicates in a professional manner with coworkers, outside professionals and parents.
  • Uses professional language when describing the consumer and/or behaviors.
  • Dresses appropriately and arrives on time for work following the employee handbook.
  • Participate in all fundraising activities through distribution of materials and information.
  • Responsible for reading and following all Boundless policy and procedures found in the employee handbook.
  • Responsible for reading and following Child Care Licensing Policies, Medicaid, CARF and DODD policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for following all trainings on other policies and procedures
  • All other assigned duties

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Desired: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or
  • Minimum Requirement: 2 years of undergraduate studies; must have college transcripts demonstrating either completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of providing behavioral health support to an individual with a mental health disorder, including but not limited to autism, anxiety, mood disorder, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, etc.

  • Ability to complete trainings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to accept and implement feedback and constructive criticism in teaching, and overall job operations
  • Utilize that information in daily therapies
  • Ability to perform emergency medical procedures when necessary
  • Ability to accurately document required therapy data
  • Communicates self in a professional manner Ability to follow all Boundless policies and procedures
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Professional telephone etiquette
