JOB SUMMARY The role of the Material Handler is to handle and maintain flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas. This position will record movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies while verifying the accuracy of work performed. The Material Handler will assist in establishing guidelines and procedures for material-handling function. This role will operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment as well as provide work leadership and training to lower level Material Handlers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Count and/or weigh incoming parts to verify receipt. Package and handle all material within guidelines set by company procedures and manuals. Perform cycle counts and contract inventories. Perform, assemble, organize, maintain, and/or route necessary documentation. Stock, store, and issue parts to meet material requirements planning, internal, and external customers’ needs. Make pickup and delivery of parts and materials within the greater Seattle metropolitan area. Possible transportation of hazardous materials. Safely operate forklift, truck and narrow aisle lifts as required; become certified as forklift and or man lift operator as required. Perform De-Kits and Restocks as necessary. Process parts, materials, and supplies into system as they are received from Receiving and Receiving Inspection. Perform stock sweeps as required. Kit parts and materials and route in accordance with valid manufacturing orders. Sales order picking as required. Assure that audit target percentages are met within the designated areas, and for the maintenance of audit integrity. Identify repetitive inventory problems and their causes, and propose solutions to the Material Control Manager or Inventory Systems Analyst. Perform shelf life maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Requires two years relevant experience. Prefer a valid Washington State driver’s license with the ability to safely operate vehicles up to 26,000 GVW and a driving record that is acceptable to meet the requirements of current DOT regulations. May be required to supply company with Washington State Drivers Abstract. Education: Requires high school diploma or GED.
