Under the direction of the William Wesley Peters Librarian at Taliesin West, the Summer 2018 Archives Intern assists in the organization and inventory of the architectural drawings, project files, collateral and research materials, and finding aids of the firm Taliesin Associated Architects housed in the vaults of the Library and Collections Building.
Note: this internship position is for individuals willing to volunteer their services without expectation of compensation. Room and board at historic Taliesin West will be provided for the Summer Semester (June through August 2018).
Position Specific Activities and Corresponding Educational Goals:
Activity: Process archival collections including inventory, arranging, rehousing, and describing archival materials.
Educational Goals: Using best practices library and museum skills, the Intern will create, update, and maintain official records for many documents in the Taliesin Associated Architects archive. By defining a schedule and creating workflow goals, the Intern will develop project management skills.
Additional Intern Activities: The Intern may assist in research requests and other activities that will further the Intern’s knowledge and experience.
Working Relationships: The Intern will work collaboratively with Library, Collections, and Foundation staff and other interns as projects and programs warrant.
