The Merchandising Intern is a great opportunity for you learn the retail basics while you work together with our team in a fun, fast paced and always-changing office atmosphere. The internship will start in early April 2018 with flexible hours (20-25) during the remainder of the semester, and 35-40 hours during the summer months. You will be exposed to many learning experiences as we interact with all areas of the business such as: Marketing, Store Operations, Supply Chain, Space Planning and even Finance/Accounting. Oh, and guess what? You get to work with pets too! The Merchandising Intern will provide support to the Merchandising team in the areas of item set up, promotions and assortment. Responsibilities include: New item setup and maintenance Promotion setup and maintenance Cost/price changes and updates Supporting our stores and neighbor requests Special projects including vendor events/meetings, business reviews and other projects as assigned   Position Requirements The PAWsome Merchandising Intern will: To be currently enrolled in a degree program Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher Proficiency in MS Excel, basic retail math and problem solving The ability to independently prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Enthusiasm for pets Attention to detail Strong organizational and communication skills The ability to work independently and on a team Willingness to learn and support the team   Full-Time/Part-Time Contingent   Shift Days   Travel   Open Date 3/14/2018   Location PSP Headquarters Group 5 - Livonia, MI   About the Organization ABOUT PET SUPPLIES PLUS Pet Supplies Plus is focused on making it easier to get better products for your pet.
